UF Internal Undergraduate Funding

UF offers several funding opportunities for undergraduate student research in the humanities. This list provides a survey of funding opportunities offered through the university.

CLAS AWARDS

The CLAS Scholars Program (opens in new tab) presents undergraduate students an opportunity to work one-on-one with UF faculty to pursue fundamental research and scholarly activities and gain valuable insights into how new knowledge is created and developed.

UF CENTER FOR UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH

The Center for Undergraduate Research  believes in fostering undergraduate research in ways that go beyond traditional classroom settings. Students should begin by visiting the Center during their peer advising hours at 202 Newell Hall or searching the mentor database.

Artificial Intelligence Scholars (opens in new tab)

This program awards participants a $1750 stipend and the chance to conduct research with a faculty mentor pursuing research in Artificial Intelligence.

Emerging Scholars Program (opens in new tab)

This program encourages early undergraduate students who are interested in adding a research experience to their curriculum at the freshman or sophomore year to apply for this entry-level funded program.

Summer Undergraduate International Research Program (opens in new tab)

Support is available for undergraduate researchers to conduct research at a foreign institution.

Travel Award (opens in new tab)

The Center funds travel (up to $500) for students to travel to national conferences to present their research.

The University Scholars Program (opens in new tab)

Winners of this competitive award receive funding to undertake a full research project under the guidance of a faculty member.

American Indian and Indigenous Studies – Alfred A. Cave Scholarship (opens in new tab)

The Alfred A. Cave Scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding undergraduate pursuing study of Native American history (including archaeology).

Bob Graham Center for Public Service

The Bob Graham Center funds a variety of paid internships (opens in new tab) for undergraduate students related to the mission of civic engagement, public policy, public leadership, or public service, broadly defined. The Center also funds the Reubin Askew Scholars (opens in new tab) award and Graham Civic Scholar (opens in new tab) awards to support research.

The David and Wanda Brown Center for Leadership & Service – Projects for Peace (opens in new tab)

Projects for Peace exists to provide an opportunity for undergraduate students on campus to design and submit grassroots projects for peace. Project for Peace recipients will receive $10,000.

Center for European Studies (opens in new tab)

The Center awards the Jean Monnet (opens in new tab) travel grants and other awards to assist undergraduate research as well as foreign language and area studies fellowships.

Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies – Charles T. Woods Student Grants (opens in new tab)

The Charles T. Woods Student Grant supports student research or service/community projects that benefit LGBTQ+ communities.

UF Honors – Wentworth Travel Scholarships (opens in new tab)

Up to 40 scholarships of up to $500 each will be awarded yearly to Honors students for projects involving undergraduate research.

Center for Latin American Studies (opens in new tab)

The Center awards multiple foreign language fellowships for undergraduate students.
