Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange Conference/Seminar/Workshop Grants

The Foundation’s grants provide support for research on Chinese Studies in the humanities and social sciences. The Foundation will consider applications from institutions for grants to hold conferences, workshops, or seminars on specific subjects related to the Foundation’s goals and objectives. Priority will be given to collaborative projects involving institutions in Taiwan. Projects on Taiwan Studies are especially encouraged.

Étant Donnés French-American Fund for Contemporary Arts

Étant donnés Contemporary Art aims to strengthen ties between France and the US in the field of contemporary art by fostering active collaboration and encouraging long-lasting partnerships between French visual artists, curators, and collectives and American curators and cultural institutions. The fund supports the discovery of emerging talents, while also sustaining interest in established artists.

Council for European Studies Conference Travel Grants

CES Conference Travel Grants support trans-continental travel for junior faculty and graduate students already scheduled to present at CES’ International Conference of Europeanists. Those who are awarded a CES Conference Travel Grant will receive a cash prize of $500 and a waiver of their conference registration fee.

National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks of American History and Culture

The Landmarks of American History and Culture program supports a series of one-week workshops for K-12 educators across the nation to enhance and strengthen humanities teaching at the K-12 level. Projects employ a place-based approach and are designed to offer educators a unique and compelling opportunity to deepen and expand their knowledge of the diverse histories, cultures, traditions, languages, and perspectives of the American people.

Terra Foundation Academic Workshop & Symposium Grants

The Terra Foundation for American Art actively supports projects that encourage scholarship on American art topics. Academic program funding is available for in-person exchanges, such as workshops, symposia, and colloquia, that advance scholarship in the field of American art. The foundation funds museum-organized educational programs related to exhibitions through its Exhibition Grants; therefore, only organizers from universities and research institutes may apply for exhibition-related programs through the Academic Program area.

German Academic Exchange DAAD Conference Funding

Faculty members and advanced students in the humanities, social sciences and related fields are invited to apply for co-funding to organize workshops, seminars and conferences that embrace the interdisciplinary and/or comparative study of the history, politics, economics, law, society, culture and the arts of Germany. Grants can be made for specific projects only; they cannot be awarded as a form of institutional funding or be used for annual meetings of societies or solely to finance publications.

Terra Foundation Academic Workshop & Symposium Grants

The Terra Foundation for American Art actively supports projects that encourage scholarship on American art topics. Academic program funding is available for in-person exchanges, such as workshops, symposia, and colloquia, that advance scholarship in the field of American art. The foundation funds museum-organized educational programs related to exhibitions through its Exhibition Grants; therefore, only organizers from universities and research institutes may apply for exhibition-related programs through the Academic Program area.

Culture Builds Florida Division of Arts and Culture Specific Cultural Projects Grant

The Specific Cultural Project (SCP) grant is designed to fund a single cultural project, program, exhibition or series taking placing within the grant period. The grant activities must support the mission of the organization or artist and further the state’s cultural objectives.

Wenner-Gren Foundation Conference and Workshop Grants

Conference and Workshop Grants are for amounts up to $20,000. In accordance with the mission of the Foundation, priority is given to events that foster the creation of an international community of research scholars in anthropology and advance significant and innovative anthropological research.

Council for European Studies Small Event Grants

Council for European Studies Small Event Grants support workshops, lectures, symposia and other small events that share research on Europe with a wider community. Individuals affiliated with CES member institutions are eligible to apply for grants ranging from $300 to $1,000.

Gainesville Conference Grants

The Conference Grant supports and enhances Alachua County as a destination for conferences by allocating a portion of the Tourist Development Tax to aid in the operations and promotions of conferences that have as one of their main purposes the attraction of tourists, as evidenced by the promotion of the conference to tourists.

National Endowment for the Humanities Collaborative Research

The Collaborative Research program aims to advance humanistic knowledge by supporting sustained collaboration between two or more scholars. The program allows projects that propose research in a single field of study, as well as interdisciplinary work. Proposed projects must aim to result in tangible and sustainable outcomes.

American Association of University Women – Community Action Grants

Community Action Grants provide funding to individuals, AAUW branches and AAUW state organizations as well as community-based nonprofits for innovative programs that promote education and equity through projects focused on encouraging girls to select, before entering college, the physical sciences or engineering as a career.

MLA Humanities Innovation Grants

The Modern Language Association awards $3,000 grants every year to support the development of courses and other educational programs in English, languages, and related disciplines that build enrollments and revitalize student interest in the humanities.

This grant assists with the production and presentation of significant programs about architecture and the designed environment in order to promote dialogue, raise awareness, and develop new and wider audiences.

Korea Foundation Korean Studies Workshop for Non-Korean Educators

The Korean Studies Workshop for Non-Korean Educators provides secondary-school teachers and education administrators outside of Korea an opportunity to promote understanding about Korea and broaden the scope of Korea-related education in classrooms.

The Center for Craft, Creativity, and Design Exhibition Research and Project Grants

This grant program legitimizes the study and practice of craft by providing resources, fostering craft studies, exhibitions, and conferences. The Center is the only organization in the United States functioning as a catalyst for scholarly research in craft.

The Spencer Foundation Conference Grants

The Conference Grant Program provides support to scholars to organize small research conferences, focused symposia, or other forms of convenings around important issues in education research. This program is intended to bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other important collaborators whose expertise, substantive knowledge and practice, theoretical insight, or methodological expertise can be engaged in ways that help to build upon and advance education research.

Quebec Studies Conference and Guest Speaker Program

This grant is aimed at encouraging the organization of conferences on themes related to Québec and/or its relations with the United States, or the welcoming of an expert on Québec within the framework of a university course or a conference. The goal is to heighten the awareness of the academic community, students or the general public of topical issues involving Québec and the United States.

University of Florida International Center Conference Travel Funding

The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) Office of Global Learning supports the availability of travel grants to attend international education conferences for faculty and staff. The award is open to all regular UF faculty (adjunct and visiting faculty are not eligible) who teach undergraduate courses. UF staff who seek to improve or expand the global engagement capacity for undergraduate students in their units/departments are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Funding

The Foundation offers three types of grants—Curatorial Research Fellowships, Exhibition Support, and Multiyear Program Grants. Grants are made on a project basis to curatorial programs at museums, artists’ organizations, and other cultural institutions to originate innovative and scholarly presentations of contemporary visual arts. Projects may include exhibitions, catalogues, and other organizational activities directly related to these areas.
